“Education should adapt to the student —
not the other way around.
Families often ask similar questions when considering onli ne education.
Below, EduWW tutors share their professional experience and firsthand insights, offering thoughtful answers shaped by daily work with students across different ages, backgrounds, and learning stylesWhat is the most striking difference between online and traditional education?
How can students overcome learning obstacles?

“I seek to assure them that struggling sometimes is normal. That a problem with something doesn’t reflect their abilities – after all, everybody learns differently. Once my students relax, I help them identify the issue and split the solution into manageable steps. The problem often emerges when a student self-imposes pressure to quickly understand a topic. Once they break that barrier down, they usually master the rest faster than they expected. They also learn how to deal with a similar issue the next time.”

“It’s the flexibility of online education. No traditional school can match it. In the modern world, families want educators to accommodate them and their children, whether through the style and tempo of learning or scheduling. It can be extremely important, for instance, to families who frequently relocate. A traditional school neither can nor would want to provide the flexibility inherent to online learning.”
“Online learning is inherently flexible.
What is the top benefit for an online school student as they grow and mature?

“We tailor learning to each student. They can focus on their interests, move quickly through topics they understand, or take extra time on subjects they find more demanding.
And the focus changes as students mature.
In elementary school, kids learn at their own pace and explore creatively, without a strict classroom schedule. There is a massive number of DIY
projects. By the way, their creativity always blows us away.
In middle school, children shift toward mastering time and responsibility: planning, meeting deadlines. They learn how to stay on top of their learning.
Finally, in high school, students dive deeper into their interests. Many opt for advanced courses, and some even for dual enrolment. Our online physics, biology and chemistry labs are like video game simulations: fun, safe, and a great tool encouraging them to explore, then apply what they learn. And all the while they’re looking ahead to college and future careers.
“Learning is tailored to each student.”

The biggest challenge is self-discipline. Outside the physical structure of a classroom, some students struggle to build and maintain routines and consistency. Online students may also feel isolated if they don’t actively communicate.
Finally, each online environment brings its own distractions. Traditional schools reduce many of these challenges through a directly supervised, tightly controlled environment.
However, it’s important to note that traditional classrooms may create an environment that is overwhelming, intimidating and stressful for some students. Such students may feel safer, more comfortable and productive in the safe surroundings of their home.
Which brings us back to the top challenge: within the safety and comfort of their homes, online students must take responsibility and organize their learning and studying.
These perspectives reflect everyday teaching experience, shaped by working closely with students in an online learning environment.
